About Us

Mission Statement

The Battle Buddy Foundation is dedicated to promoting a higher quality of LIFE, assisting with the LIBERTY of independent living, and aiding in the PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS for Disabled Veterans as they transition to civilian life.

Vision

The Battle Buddy Foundation will pair veterans with service dogs, and assist veterans suffering from PTSD with the many challenges they face on a daily basis. The Battle Buddy Foundation will also promote the reintegration of these Combat Veterans back into society and the work force.

Organizational Overview

"The Battle Buddy Foundation (TBBF), is a nonprofit corporation registered with the Ohio Secretary of State. It operates as a tax exempt organization under IRS Section 501(c)(3), application pending.   Individual and corporate contributions are tax exempt as allowed by law."

Currently, there are an average of 22 Veterans, and one active duty member, taking his or her own life each day, due, in part, to the effects of combat injuries. The Battle Buddy Foundation is dedicated to reducing these numbers to zero. How?  As its initial step in the PTSD healing process, and the keystone program, TBBF is focused on psychiatric and mobility service dogs for veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). With continuing and adequate funding, TBBF is able to supply PTSD Service Dogs to veterans, at no cost to the veteran.  A PTSD Service Dog becomes the veteran's 'battle buddy'.  The effective training of the PTSD Service dog and veteran as a team, in turn helps the veteran cope with symptoms of PTSD.  The highly trained PTSD Service dog assists a veteran to assimilate back into a civilian world, reduces the intensity of the PTSD, which results in a higher quality of life for the veteran and their family.

Secondly, by recognizing and understanding the issues specific to PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury, other combat related injuries, and the military experience,  TBBF can focus on  providing  programs specifically addressing these issues. PTSD affects each veteran differently:   through TBBF centers, veterans can take advantage of  counseling, fellowship with other veterans, family counseling, and other programs tailored to the individual's needs."

TBBF Headquarters is located at 8859 Cincinnati-Dayton Rd STE 202, West Chester, OH 45069.
